Project Team
WET's project team is comprised of a close-knit group of experienced professionals fully qualified to address your environmental needs. Career experiences and expertise within WET’s team include government, business, oil and gas production, site assessment, investigation, and remediation, ground water and geochemical modeling, chemical engineering, well and water resource management, hazardous materials, and land development. WET’s principals have academic backgrounds in Environmental Engineering, Geological Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, GIS/GSP, Geophysical Engineering, Earth Science, and Hydrogeology. WET employees have extensive experience in the environmental consulting industry, as well as specific areas of expertise and numerous professional certifications. In addition to our core group of professionals, WET partners with several other industry experts to assist on specific projects. A professional profile of each WET employee is provided below.
David J. Erickson, P.G, Manager/Principal Hydrogeologist
Mr. Erickson has nearly 20 years experience in the environmental consulting field, and is recognized as one of the lead hydrogeologists in Montana. He has been managing a wide variety of projects for the past 18 years, and performs management and operations duties for WET. He has been responsible for management of many technical projects over the years, ranging in complexity from multi-state contaminated site remediations to industrial pond expansion projects to lead expert on environmental litigation teams. In recent years, more focus has been given to ground water and surface water resource evaluation and mitigation projects. David’s primary area of expertise is in investigation, characterization, and mitigation of contaminated natural resources, and in the evaluation, development, and conservation of water resources. His hydrogeology background affords him the education to evaluate complex surface water/ground water interactions. With the ongoing drought in Montana, Dave has recently taken a leading role in many water development projects throughout the State.
His remediation experience includes design, installation, and monitoring of various types of remedial technologies or remedial methods including: air stripping, air sparging, vapor extraction, funnel & gate, bioventing, bio-cell treatment, biostimulation (ORC), NAPL recovery, in-situ & ex-situ bioremediation, natural attenuation, excavation & off-site disposal. Mr. Erickson graduated with a degree in Geological Engineering from Montana Tech. He is a Certified Professional Geologist (CPG 9402)and a Registered Professional Geologist in the States of Wyoming and Utah.
Joshua T. Vincent, P.E., Principal Engineer/Marketing Director
Mr. Vincent is a Partner/Principal Engineer and the Director of Business Development for Water & Environmental Technologies. Josh has worked in the environmental consulting industry his entire career, with a broad range of experience in many project areas. His project management experience encompasses all areas of surface water and ground water characterization, investigation, and remediation; watershed characterization and monitoring; hydrogeologic investigations; nutrient analysis; land development; environmental permitting; remedial project design construction, and oversight; environmental assessments/audits; hazardous waste management and characterization; and, UST investigations. Josh has also served as a Project Manager and engineer on numerous water quality and land development projects, stream restoration projects, hydrogeologic investigations, contaminated sites, landfill monitoring and design, and contaminant characterization. Josh’s recent work experience has focused more closely on surface water bodies, watershed planning and monitoring, and site characterization.
Josh graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from Montana Tech. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the States of Montana (#12994PE) and Wyoming (PE#9710). Josh is also actively involved in numerous community and conservation organizations, including Montana Tech and Trout Unlimited.
Elizabeth Erickson, Principal Hydrogeologist
Mrs. Erickson serves as Principal Hydrogeologist for WET. She specializes in hydrogeologic investigation and interpretation, geochemical analysis, ground water and surface water modeling, and investigation, remediation and monitoring at ground water contamination sites.
She is a licensed Certified Water System Operator in the State of Montana and services multiple water supply systems in that capacity.
Elizabeth’s experience includes two years as an Exploration Geophysicist with a major oil company, one year as a geophysical consultant, and sixteen years working with hydrogeologic projects in a consulting capacity.
Elizabeth’s expertise in hydrogeologic modeling using MODFLOW and GMS has gained national recognition. Her ground water model of the Jim Bridger Power Plant in Rock Springs, Wyoming was included at a poster session of the 2001 International Ground Water Modeling Center Conference in Denver.
More recently, she has begun 3-D hydrogeologic/geologic visualization modeling using EVS software. She has prepared multiple models using various software packages for litigation purposes.
Elizabeth received her Bachelor of Science degree in Geophysical Engineering and her Master of Science degree in Geosciences/Hydrogeology, both from Montana Tech of the University of Montana.
Her thesis involved the development of a ground water flow model (MODFLOW, USGS, 1988) simulation of a regional intermontane aquifer to determine pumping effects from ongoing development on ground water availability in an area without centralized sewer and water.
She is actively involved in modeling, data interpretation, geochemical evaluation, and site characterization of several power plant sites in Wyoming and Utah and several Superfund sites in Montana.
Doug Anderson, P.G., Senior Hydrogeologist
As a Senior Hydrogeologist in WET’s Butte office, Mr. Anderson serves as Project Manager and Senior Hydrogeologist on a variety of environmental projects, including site assessments, hydrogeologic investigation and characterization, design and implementation of ground water monitoring programs, watershed planning, wetlands delineation, and site remediation. He has over 20 years experience in the environmental industry, with both consulting and regulatory experience. Doug's experience includes all phases of remedial design and construction, ground water and surface water investigation and monitoring, water resource planning, well design projects, and soil and water remediation. He also has extensive experience in Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and hydrogeologic investigation procedures. Doug is involved with local and state watershed planning councils, and has positive working relationships with many local, state, and federal agencies.
Doug received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Earth Science from the University of South Dakota, and a Masters Degree in Geology (Hydrogeology Emphasis) from Fort Hays State University. He is a Registered Professional Geologist in the State of Wyoming.
Patty Hamblock EI, Senior Engineer
Patty Hamblock works as a Senior Engineer in WET’s Butte office.
Patty specializes in subdivision permitting and land development, and is also responsible for storm water discharge permits (NPDES/MPDES), well sampling/surveys/research, and other water-related issues.
Patty is experienced in all phases of land development projects, including compliance with local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to plan layout, non-degradation standards, and storm water issues.
Patty also performs technical research, compilation, and organization of large databases for many projects.
Patty graduated from Montana Tech of the University of Montana, earning her General Engineering degree.
She is a registered Engineer Intern (E.I.) in the State of Montana.
Pat Thomson, P.G., Senior Hydrogeologist
Pat joined the WET team as a Senior Hydrogeologist in August of 2002. He has broad experience in the environmental consulting field, working on a wide variety of environmental projects. Pat’s experience includes project management, preparing workplans for remedial investigations and corrective actions, preparing reports outlining investigative and monitoring results, and investigating and preparing reports for environmental site assessments/audits. His fieldwork includes a variety of site investigation and characterization, remedial activities, and sampling.
Pat received a degree in Geology and Hydrogeology with an Engineering Emphasis from Montana State University in 1993, and is a Registered Professional Geologist in the State of Utah.
John Trudnowski, P.E., Senior Geological Engineer
Mr. Trudnowski works as a Geological Engineer for the WET team. John has experience working with various private, state, and federal projects. His specific experience includes aquifer testing & characterization; mine site characterization & remediation; surface water impact studies; UST site characterization & remediation; water well design & construction; oversight of RCRA hazardous waste removal; groundwater and stormwater system design & permitting, as well as subdivision permitting. John has worked at various facilities and sites in Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, New York and Delaware.
John graduated from Montana Tech with a B.S. in Geological Engineering and is licensed as a Professional Environmental Engineer in the State of Montana.
Steve Anderson, Ph.D., P.E., Senior Engineer
Steve Anderson is a Senior Engineer with the WET Project Team, specializing in civil engineering and mine waste technology. Steve has worked the past 10 years at Montana Tech of The University of Montana in the Mine Waste Technology Program, as a professor and research specialist. Steve has served as Project Manager, QA/QC Manager and Researcher on numerous projects associated with the remediation and characterization of water & soil impacted by mining activities. He also has expertise working with numerous mine-contaminated water projects, acid mine drainage, mine site remediation and reclamation. As a Civil Engineer, his projects include septic system design, stormwater and runoff design, subdivision design and rural water design.
Steve received 2 degrees from Montana Tech, a B.S. in Society & Technology-Public Policy, and a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering. Mr. Anderson also received his PhD in Civil Engineering from LaSalle University.
Steve's breadth of experience in the mine reclamation and treatment technology field and civil engineering applications makes him a great addition to WET's Team.
John Davis, Senior Environmental Engineer
Mr. Davis joined the WET team as a Senior Environmental Engineer in May of 2007. He has over 18 years experience in the environmental field. John's specific project expertise includes groundwater investigation involving contamination from agricultural chemicals, hydrocarbons, and other contaminant sources. His experience also includes design, installation, operation, and maintenance of soil and groundwater remediation systems, preparing sampling and analysis plans, soil and water sampling, and environmental site assessments.
John received an Associate of Science degree in Geology from the Flathead Valley Community College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from Montana Tech.
Jeff LeProwse, GIS Manager
Jeff works as a GIS Manager with the WET team. He is responsible for building, maintaining and archiving our GIS database. He is also responsible for map production and creating datasets and functional maps using ArcGIS software.
Jeff has developed commercial GPS/GIS applications, HydroPlus GIS and In-Situ multi-parameter water quality instruments, which was awarded 1st place in the ESRI's ArcPad challenge, and in 2003 developed a Data Dictionary converter which seamlessly converts Trimble's data dictionaries to an ESRI ArcPad data collection form. In 2004 he co-developed DataLink GIS, a stand alone data processing application that automatically maintains GIS/GPS data from multiple field devices into a standard directory structure on a host PC.
Jeff has received certifications in the following areas: Trimble Technical Support Provider; ESRI ArcPad Application Developer; Extending ArcGIS Desktop Applications.
He received his Associate of Applied Science, GIS/GPS degree from Montana Tech of the University of Montana in 2001.
Jennifer Walsh, Office Manager/Marketing
Jenny was hired on as Office Manager and Marketing Assistant in April of 2008. Jenny handles day-to-day operations and provides administrative support to the Butte and Great Falls locations. Some of her other duties and skills include design of marketing and advertising materials, and assistance in writing and submitting proposals for the company. She also represents W.E.T. at the numerous conferences attended by the company throughout the year.
Jenny graduated from Carroll College with a degree in Business Administration with concentrations in Management and Finance.
Ty DeBoo, Staff Engineer
Ty has been a staff engineer with WET since 2008. He has experience in map production using ArcGis, experience in water and soil sampling, and MPDES and floodplain permitting. Ty has also worked on TMDL and stream habitat projects, soil and groundwater remediation installation and design, and data management and analysis.
Ty graduated from Montana Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering in 2008
Kim Draper, Staff Engineer
Kim Draper has been with WET for two years. Kim is experienced in watershed characterization and monitoring, forest road erosion modeling, subdivision permitting (on-site septic and storm water design), and MPDES and floodplain permitting.
Kim has also assisted with several pumping tests, characterization of existing storm water facilities, and a sanitary sewer extension Preliminary Engineering Report.
Kim graduated from The University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, and received her Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from Montana Tech of the University of Montana.
She is a registered Engineer Intern in the State of Montana
Janet M. Downey, CPA
Janet joined the WET team as their Controller in January, 2008. She has experience in Industry, the Not-for-Profit, Financial Institution, and Public Accounting sectors.
Her background includes financial statement preparation, individual, partnership and corporate tax return preparation, cash flow management, payroll administration, compliance reporting, and auditing.
She is responsible for the financial statements, accounts receivables, account payables, invoicing, management reporting, payroll preparation and reporting, and implementing financial policies and procedures.
Janet graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics with an emphasis in Accounting. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of Montana.
Charles W. Greene, PE, Senior Project Manager
Charley Greene is a Senior Project Manager in WET’s Butte office. Mr. Greene came out of retirement to join the WET team in November 2007.
He is a Registered Professional Engineer and has 40 years of engineering and management experience.
Mr. Greene retired from MSE in Butte Montana in December 2005 where he served the last five years of his employment as the Vice President and Manager of Engineering.
Mr. Greene’s entire career has been spent managing engineering and environmental projects. His primary role at WET has been, and continues to be, management and oversight of the Sunburst Restoration Project in Sunburst, Montana.
He has extensive experience working with governmental agencies, both Federal and State, and has conducted many licensing activities.
Charley is a Viet Nam era veteran having served three years in the U.S. Army (November 1961- November 1964).
He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute (Terre Haute, Indiana) in 1969. He received his Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Montana State University in 1971.
John Babcock, Staff Hydrogeologist
John Babcock is a Staff Hydrogeologist with WET specializing in all aspects of water quality monitoring and environmental assessment,
including surface and groundwater sampling, lake and reservoir studies, hydrogeologic characterization, stream habitat assessment, and TMDL development.
Mr. Babcock is also well experienced with data management, statistical analysis, technical report writing, and project oversight.
John has recently published and presented research on diel (24-h) variability of nutrients, metals, and stable isotopes in a eutrophic stream,
and a tracer injection study on a stream impacted by mining.
John received a B.S. in Watershed Management from Montana State University, and is currently completing a M.S. in Geoscience (Hydrogeology Option) at Montana Tech.
Rochelle Garrison, Staff Engineer
Rochelle has been with WET for two years. Rochelle has experience in storm water discharge permits (NPDES/MPDES), data management and analysis, groundwater sampling and analysis, and subdivision design plans and permitting. Rochelle has also assisted with environmental site assessments, floodplain permitting, TMDL projects, preparing reports outlining investigative and monitoring results, and characterization of existing storm water facilities.
Rochelle graduated from Montana Tech of the University of Montana with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering in 2009.
Britt Siddoway, Staff Engineer
Britt joined Water & Environmental Technologies as a staff engineer in May of 2010. Previously, Britt worked part-time as a WET engineering intern from May 2009 to May 2010. He has experience with the design of mine dewatering systems, sewage lift stations, landfill design, and backfill compaction oversight. Britt has worked extensively with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Britt graduated from Montana Tech in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering. He is currently enrolled as a graduate student at Montana Tech and will complete his M.S. in Civil Engineering in 2011. Britt is a registered Engineer Intern in the State of Montana.
Jay Slocum, Wildlife Biologist/GIS Specialist
Jay has been a Wildlife Biologist and a GIS Specialist with WET since 2009. He has experience working throughout the Intermountain West conducting a variety of biological studies involving terrestrial wildlife, avian and plant species. In particular, Jay has extensive experience with avian and mammalian species in shrub-steppe ecosystems.
Having conducted studies for USFWS-special status species and BLM-sensitive species affected by large scale oil and gas and wind energy development, he is knowledgeable with federal and state wildlife guidelines, laws and timing stipulations. Jay is experienced in implementing environmental evaluations on large-scale and logistically complex EIS’s and EA’s, as well as narrow scoped site-specific construction projects.
He is highly proficient using GPS and mobile GIS applications to collect data and is an experienced user of ArcGIS for creating, managing spatial data and producing high quality maps.
Jay graduated from the University of Montana with a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Biology with an emphasis on Terrestrial Biology in 2005.
